As the Center’s training and consultancy body, the Academy:
- trains doctors and healthcare personnel on how the Internet and the new technologies can improve the doctor-patient relationship;
- organizes innovative training sessions based on a mix of new technologies, art, theater and narratives;
- plans ad hoc workshops for companies and organizations;
- carries out research and consultancy activities;
- organizes Masters programs in close cooperation with major Companies, Universities and Research Institutions, with Italian and international.
The summit is to be held every year in the last week of May at Castello di Roccasinibalda and will be broadcast via online streaming. Its aim is to share research, experiences, publications and projects dealing with the Center for Digital Health Humanities’ five core areas. It brings together scholars in the Humanities, Scientific societies, patient associations, online therapeutic communities, pharmaceutical companies, Institutional representatives, artists and writers. Plenary sessions will alternate with workshops and meetings with developers and start-ups. The summit provides an opportunity to assess what has been achieved and provide insight into new perspectives. The first summit will be held on 25 May 2015.
Awards will be assigned during the Annual Summit to the most innovative research and initiatives carried out in the five areas of journeying with illness. The call for proposals will be published in October in a newsletter and on the website.
The acts of the annual Summit, current study and research findings, as well as initiatives such as specific calls to action promoted by the Center, will be published in collaboration with ilcorpoedizioni.
